Welcome and Blessings!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I have named this blog "Running to the Cross" because that is what I often find myself doing...running to be with my Lord Jesus! I often cover many aspects of life on my blog, as it is my journal. I used to write things down in all sorts of notebooks, but my writings would soon be lost. So I decided that it was time to start a blog and share my thoughts and ideas with others. Many topics you will find here are prayers, homemaking and organization, children and pregnancy, funny stories, and the challenges of parenting and motherhood. If you enjoy my blog and leave me a comment, you are likely to have me visit! I love meeting others and gleaning from the lives of others. May you be blessed! Your friend in Christ, Heather

She is DEFINITELY better!!!! And an Update...

My youngest daughter is feeling much better!!! I am very thankful for all of your prayers and to God's steadfast answer to them!!! Yesterday she began eating better again and she began to have more wet diapers. I have not had to change a yucky diaper since Wednesday, so the diarrhea is gone, too!!! PTL!!!

On a different note...
School has been very busy for us. I am pushing to get finished by June 8...I had to take another day off this week to care of my sick daughter, but since she is better we are again chugging along. The days are getting warmer and we have been having school outside every day!!! We have been having school out on our deck. It is shady in the morning so we are trying to get out there earlier so we can be outside for school the entire time, unfortunately we live on a busy 2 way highway so it can be noisy at times (and stinky when the tractors and feed trucks go by with dead cattle and manure).

I am looking forward to the two weeks or so that we plan to take off. Then, when school starts again, I will probably start out with a 4 day school week, or a 4 days on, 1 day off, and 5 days on type routine. I don't want to get too away from school though, or I will struggle at the "beginning" of the school year. I figure if we never really stop schooling in the summer, that it will be easier for us in the long run.

Well, I'm off again...things have been extremely busy and eventually I hope to post some more inspiring articles, but right now things are just a little too chaotic around here to concentrate.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!!!
Blessings!
Heather

Hi Heather. I thought I'd answer the question you left for me on my blog here on yours. :-)

My hubby is dyslexic, and he is also the smartest man I know. Dyslexia is a gift. Because of it, dyslexic persons can think of things in ways that regular people usually don't, and dyslexics come up with amazing stuff.

My hubby can read, but til this day he still doesn't like to.

When your child was initially introduced to reading, was he taught sight words or phonics first?

The reason I ask, is because some forms of dyslexia are actually brought on by the brain learning sight words before phonics (trivium stuff).

Anyhow, just stay the course, and stay patient and diligent. Don't give up, and use a lot of fun repitition. The brain can grow the proper denderic connections to get your child through, and to become an excellent reader. :-)

Hi Heather!!!!

I'm just popping in to see ya for a moment. Glad to hear your daughter is doing better.

I've been off the computer a lot. It has been such a blessing to not have it as a distraction. I miss the blogsphere though. I have made such headway to get my home organized so that my upkeep will be much easier. With the weather so nice I am happy to have more time to enjoy it too. :-)

Anyway, I just thought I'd tell you I'm still around, just not as often.

Hope all is well.
