Welcome and Blessings!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I have named this blog "Running to the Cross" because that is what I often find myself doing...running to be with my Lord Jesus! I often cover many aspects of life on my blog, as it is my journal. I used to write things down in all sorts of notebooks, but my writings would soon be lost. So I decided that it was time to start a blog and share my thoughts and ideas with others. Many topics you will find here are prayers, homemaking and organization, children and pregnancy, funny stories, and the challenges of parenting and motherhood. If you enjoy my blog and leave me a comment, you are likely to have me visit! I love meeting others and gleaning from the lives of others. May you be blessed! Your friend in Christ, Heather

A Funny Story...

We have been very busy this weekend, actually since Friday. A family at our church just had a baby boy, and we took a meal over to them on Friday. I got to hold their teeny tiny little baby boy for a very long time! My baby girl is now 22 months old, so it has been a while since I have gotten to hold a newborn. I am sooo ready to have my baby, but I will just have to wait until the end of August or the beginning of September.

A Funny Story...

Saturday we made a trip into Walmart. We needed diapers and my 5-year-old daughter had some birthday money to spend. Instead of staying home, like I usually do, I decided that maybe I should go this time, so we took the whole family.

When we go to Walmart as a family, we always get two shopping carts and put the youngest two in the seats of the carts. So as we were walking through Walmart's frozen food section, a couple ladies were crossing over to another section. I stopped and let them pass, then I caught up with my husband and the rest of the children.

As I hurried to catch up, I heard them say,
"She's pregnant!"
"No, she's not pregnant..."
"Yes, she IS pregnant!"
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I am...she is pregnant!"

I smiled and said to myself, "Yes, I'm pregnant." I was quite humored by their conversation.

It's funny that people have such a reaction to a large family. Funny thing is, I really don't feel that our family is that large. Yes, we have six children and we are expecting our seventh, but I still don't feel like it is very large. Maybe that is my large family thinking...we have always said that we will take 10 children if the good Lord gives them to us. Now we are saying that 10 or more would be fine, as well...seeing that I have had 10 pregnancies in 10 years.

Another dear friend of mine had the same experience in the hospital when she was delivering her seventh child. The attending nurse couldn't believe that she had seven children all by the same man!

Conclusion
I am honored to go places with my family, whether other people's reactions are good or bad. God has greatly blessed our family. I may not see our family as a large family, but I do see our blessings as a great many blessings.

Have a blessed day, today!
Heather

It's funny what people get upset about. I had one lady curse at me and ask didin't I know what birth control was! Why do people get so offended? They must think we are on welfare and they are paying for it all. Otherwise, I really don't see a reason to become so persoanlly offended by the size of someone else's family.

I'd love 12 kids!

that's so funny. I think my favorite is "Do they all have the same father???"

I didn't get too many comment when I was expecting #8. Mind you we don't go shopping with the whole family all that much so that could be why. Actually that IS probably why cause when I am at the store I immediately notice if a mom has four or more children with her and I count(just in my head not pointing a finger:)
