Welcome and Blessings!

Thank you so much for stopping by! I have named this blog "Running to the Cross" because that is what I often find myself doing...running to be with my Lord Jesus! I often cover many aspects of life on my blog, as it is my journal. I used to write things down in all sorts of notebooks, but my writings would soon be lost. So I decided that it was time to start a blog and share my thoughts and ideas with others. Many topics you will find here are prayers, homemaking and organization, children and pregnancy, funny stories, and the challenges of parenting and motherhood. If you enjoy my blog and leave me a comment, you are likely to have me visit! I love meeting others and gleaning from the lives of others. May you be blessed! Your friend in Christ, Heather

Bedrest....

Well, so much for posting my monthly menu plan. I do have mine in tact, but I will probably not be posting the rest of it... at least not for this month.

Last Sunday (a week & 2 days ago) I showed signs of going into labor early. So after checking with my midwife and a trip to the hospital, I have been on bedrest since.

If you remember correctly, my last baby came just a few days after hitting the 36 week point.

It seems to have all started with a hectic week and 3 stings from a hornet or something while directing my boys in the garden on Saturday. They tilled my garden then planted my tomatoes & peppers.

So here I am today, trying to make it until 36 weeks so I can have my midwife deliver me...

Just 1 more week to go, and then I will resume light housework & cooking, but gardening will have to be for my boys as I still have beans to plant & a few other things. Thankfully my husband is putting in raised beds for my beans in my "secret garden"... I am also thrilled that I have volunteer pumpkins already growing in my main garden, but I need to have canteloupe, watermelon, cucumbers and a few other things planted yet...

So, prayers are greatly appreciated as I wait and stay planted on my behind.

However, I have taken delight in crocheting and some sewing that I haven't been able to do until now. My newest project is a nursing nightgown for myself as I have already crocheted baby booties, an infant hat, and 3 pot holder hot pads...

Blessings friends!
Heather

I will be praying for you..
It seems not that long ago that we were anticipating the births of our children and here you are almost ready to have your next..how time flies. How I long for another little precious bundle to hold....please pray for me too..either that Gilbert would want more children to or that the strong desire to have more would be taken from me.

((hugs))

Glad to hear you're getting some rest. (though not by pleasant means)

I've recently read that a deficiency in zinc will cause premature labor, as well as the membranes rupturing early. These problems were quickly remedied when zinc was added regularly to the diet.

Take care & enjoy the time-you know that once you're able to be up, it will be another whirlwind of activity!! :)

Thanks to both of you for you support and prayers! God has granted me the time I needed to keep the baby inside as I am still pregnant (Praise the LORD!!!).

With my last baby (who was born at 36 weeks & 2 days), I noticed that she was very sleepy the first two weeks and I was hoping to not have to experience that this time (Lord willing)...

I am so thankful that I have made it this far.

Amity-- Your submissiveness to your husband's request says a lot about you and your willingess to respect your husband. I will pray for a change of heart, but only God can do miracles.

I am amazed each time God surprises me with an answered (or unanswered) prayer. He is faithful and has proven to me time and time again that He loves His children. May God grant you strength as you cope with your desires for more little ones, and give you the abounding love that you need to care for the ones your have.

((hugs)) and blessings!
